Stephen Sladek

Mr. Stephen H. Sladek, 56, Crawfordsville, passed away suddenly Sunday, August 12, at 6:12 AM, at the IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He was born November 5, 1955, in Ashiya, Japan, to James R. and Harriett (Whelchel) Sladek. He married Lisa E. Wiggam, June 14, 1991, in Indianapolis.

Steve had worked in information technology and as a financial advisor. He was currently employed by Ricoh, Inc., as an Account Executive for the Great Lakes District. He graduated from Clarkston High School in Georgia and George Rogers Clark College in Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife Lisa and son Nick; his brother James Sladek and his sister Beverly Sladek, both of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.

You would often find Steve deep in conversation with someone he just met. He loved meeting new people and learning about their lives while sharing his with them. Steve had immense pride in his son, Nick, who was his greatest joy and is a junior at Wabash College.

Steve's other love was spending time in the backyard with his loving wife Lisa and his two Golden Retrievers, Ceili and Cooper. Steve had a special place in his heart for animals.
