Stephen Dearl Sowder

Stephen D. Sowder passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at home. He was born on February 9, 1949 in Crawfordsville to Foister and Marguerite (Renner) Sowder. Stephen married Kay McCormick on March 21, 1971 in Crawfordsville.

He worked as a maintenance mechanic for John Deere, United Tractor and B&L Engineering in Crawfordsville. Stephen was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family. Stephen also loved riding his Harley motorcycle.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Kay; two children, Shawna Raff of Cape Coral, FL and Scott Sowder (Lavinia) of Waterford, MI; one granddaughter, Saraelliot Raff; six siblings, Phil Sowder, Velma Peterson, Eunice Oliver, Joe Sowder, Ken Sowder and Tim Sowder. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Jim Sowder and Keith Sowder.
