Steven L. Demoret, age 70, of Crawfordsville passed away on October 5, 2016 at 12:40pm at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

He was born in Montgomery County on August 9, 1946 to the late Norman & Mary (Surface) Demoret. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1964 and married Donna S. (Fischer) Demoret on April 21, 1984 in Parkersburg, IN.

Steve was a maintenance electrician who retired from Acuity after 31 years. He proudly served in the National Guard, belonged to the Sugar Creek Square Dancers, was a ham radio operator, enjoyed wood working, going to the lake, reading, and could do all most anything.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Crawfordsville; his step-mother, Mary Demoret, of Crawfordsville; two sons, Jeff Steele and Philip (Cheryl) Demoret, both of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Julie (Joe) Lynch of Lebanon, Karmon (Justis) Barger of Oxford, and Kelsey (Brad) Case of Crawfordsville; a brother, Richard (Jennifer) Demoret of New Market; a step-brother, Jim (Diane) Brown of Parkersburg; a step-sister, Marilyn (Bob) Kernodle of GA; 15 grandchildren, Shelby (Zach) Bubolz, Kaybree, Haven, Abby, Case, Zeke, Annie, Rachel, McKenzie, Reagan, Kadin, Hayleigh, Clayton, Madison, and Skyler, Kimberly and Ariel; 4 great-grandchildren, Kamden, Khloe, Kobe, and Lily, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant granddaughter, Allie.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00pm Sunday, October 9th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Todd Randles officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of service.
