Terri L. Ward, a sparkly soul with a passionate heart, left this world behind on Thursday, February 6, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 5, 1959, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Jerry and Connie Ward, Terri lived a life full of love and laughter.
A graduate of North Montgomery High School (Class of 1977) and The House of James Beauty College, Terri worked at Edgewood Barber Shop, where she made lifelong friends with Tom and Dennis. She also cooked up a storm at the Montgomery County Home, caring for the residents alongside her parents.
As a social worker, Terri spread joy and kindness at Culver Hospital, local nursing homes, and with children at Home Team Advantage. Her passion for helping others was contagious.
When she wasn't working, Terri loved to express her creativity through painting, drawing, crafting, and making jewelry. Her art was a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She also had a passion for travel, especially beach vacations, where she'd soak up the sun and sand.
Terri's greatest joy, however, was her family. As a doting mother, she always put her loved ones first, showering them with love, support, and encouragement. Her daughter, Melissa, was the center of her universe, and she was incredibly proud of the woman she became.
Terri's grandchildren, Infinity, Ty, Khiann, and Eli, brought immense happiness to her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was coloring, making hot chocolate at 2 a.m., or just cuddling. Terri's love for her family was unconditional, and she was always there to lend a listening ear.
Terri is survived by her mother, Connie Ward; daughter, Melissa (Johnny) Hernandez; doggie son, Little Man; grandchildren, Infinity (Julian) Wisner, Ty Hernandez, Khiann Hernandez, and Eli Hernandez; brothers, Ed (Debbie) Ward and Jeff (Monica) Ward; and many nieces and nephews who adored their "cool aunt." She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Ward.
In celebration of Terri's life, visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington Street, Crawfordsville. A joyful Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6 p.m. In true Terri style, the family invites you to wear your favorite tie-dye or bright colors to send her off with love, fun, and laughter!
