Thomas R. Scott Jr.

Thomas R. Scott Jr, age 84 of Crawfordsville went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bicknell, Indiana on September 14, 1935 to the late Thomas R. Sr & Mary Thelma (Rose) Scott.

Tom attended Ragsdale grade school and graduated from Bruceville High School in 1953 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1953 till his honorable discharge in 1957. On January 11, 1957 he married the love of his life, Muriel Smith at the First Church of Nazarene in Vincennes. Tom worked as a pressman at R.R. Donnelley’s for 35 years, worked at Fujifilm in Crawfordsville, drove semi for Werner Trucking Company and drove for Helping Hands Chauffeur Service. He was a hard worker and proud of his family. He was a member of the First Assembly of God and attended First Community Church in Lebanon. Tom enjoyed shooting firearms, hunting, bowling, and woodworking. He loved to travel and traveled to 49 states and many countries all over the world. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Muriel of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Cheryl Ann (Mike) Summers of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Shawn (Elizabeth) Rector of Kokomo, Brandy (Mark) Albright of Greencastle, Keegan (Scott) Fox of New Whiteland, and Kelsie Robinson of Bloomington; six great-grandchildren, Britney King, Dominic Curtin, Franklin Fox, Serenity Albright, Cash Reed, and Parker Reed; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shandol Lea Dulin; a sister, Jane Thomson; and a granddaughter, Deziarae Albright.

Visitation will be at First Assembly Church of Crawfordsville, 2070 Lebanon Road, Crawfordsville on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Craig Carrell officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Legion Post 72 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corp.
