Mr. Thomas Mason Wilson, 82, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, on Friday, August 8th, at 11:00 PM. He was born June 13, 1932 in St. Paul, Indiana, to Lane Clark and Opal Arvilla (Emswiler) Wilson. He married Doris Evelyn Barclay on November 23, 1951, in Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2003.
Mr. Wilson had worked in the Business Office for Prudential and Ben Hur Life Insurance Companies; had worked in the Credit Department at Mid States Wire; worked in the Kroger Produce Department; and earlier in his life owned the Wilson Distributing Company for Borden Milk Company in Prescott, Arizona. He was a 1950 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran; a member of the Crawfordsville First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and had a great love for studying and teaching the Word; he had been a Bus Driver for the Crawfordsville School Corporation; was a Special Education Aide at Crawfordsville High School; had been active with the Crawfordsville Youth Baseball; was a member of the American Legion Post #72; and took great enjoyment in supporting his kids and grandkids in all their activities.
He is survived by his children: Sandy (Dave) Booker and Susi (Jim) Williams, both of Crawfordsville; David (Linda) Wilson and Mike (Tina) Wilson, both of Crawfordsville; and Dan (Dora) Wilson, Palestine, Texas. Also surviving are brothers: Bob (Jeri) Wilson, Crawfordsville; John (Ann) Wilson, Lafayette; sister-in-law: Phyllis Wilson, Brownsburg; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Clark Wilson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, August 15th, at the Crawfordsville First Baptist Church, 1905 Lebanon Rd., with Revs., Issac Zull and James Ranard officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery with Military Rites being conducted by the U. S Marine Corps and the Crawfordsville American Legion and VFW Honor Guard. Friends may call on Thursday, August 14th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church.
