Virginia Ann Norman

Virginia Ann (Patton) Collins Norman, age 81 of Crawfordsville passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Lane House in Crawfordsville surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born in Crawfordsville on August 26, 1936 to the late Rufus & Mary (Rush) Patton.

Virginia graduated from New Market High School and married Carlie Collins on December 19, 1954. He preceded her death in 1975. She was also married to Dale Norman, who also preceded her in death.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a member of the New Market Christian Church and loved her church family. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Night Owls group at church. Virginia spent 28 years at Southmont High School in the kitchen where she loved to cook and greet the students. She loved to bake and give to others which was one of her greatest joys.

Virginia and Carlie had 5 children who all survive, Karla Fletcher, Nancy (Ed) Newell, Steven (Margaret) Collins, Michael Collins, and Julia (Adam) Collins-Siefert; 10 grandchildren, Adam & Melissa Fletcher, Amie (Travis) Bowen, Aaron (Jenn) Newell, Carl (Caitlyn) Collins, Katherine Collins, Kinsey, Maggie, & Jace Peterson, and Carter Siefert; and 6 great great grandchildren, Karder & Harris Newell & Liam Callahan, Paxton & Mackenzie Bowen, and Olivia Rose Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Darrel Patton, Donald Patton and an infant brother.

Visitation will be at New Market Christian Church, 302 S 3rd Street, in New Market on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00am at the church with Pastor Kurt Flora officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery in Waveland.
