Virginia Lee (Jackson) Simpson

Virginia Lee Simpson, age 95 of Monte Vista, Colorado and formerly of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her residence in Colorado. She was born in Russellville, Indiana on February 8, 1926 to the late Audie Jackson and Lillie (Wells) Jackson. Virginia graduated from Russellville High School alongside her brother Max (Jack) in the Class of 1945.

On August 10, 1946, she married Charles William Simpson, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2018. Virginia was a homemaker and farmer's wife in the Waveland and Browns Valley area all her adult life. She loved family and was thrilled to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A member of Browns Valley Christian Church, Virginia served in the Ladies' Aide, taught children's Bible School and Sunday School, and was a church song leader. She also was a member of the Russellville American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Ed) Redden of Monte Vista, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Christin (Rodney) Graves, Chelsea (Alex) Thompson, Cody (Jenna) Redden; 6 great grandchildren Jaelyn, Lillie, Charlie, Ruby, Everlee, Shepard; 2 step great-grandchildren Rodney Jr. and Raven; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law Don (Elizabeth) Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Max Jackson; and husband, Charles.

Visitation will be at Browns Valley Christian Church, 9011 S. State Road 47, Crawfordsville on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Dave Finch officiating. Burial of Cremains will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Browns Valley Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 9011 S.
