Wanda E (Mills) Clawson, age 91 of Kingman passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Rockville Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Cates on August 25, 1927 to the late O.V & Kitty (Nichols) Marie Mills.
Wanda graduated from Kingman High School in 1945 and on April 19, 1944 she married the love of her life, Leonard J. Clawson, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2012. She was a loving mother and true homemaker, who always put out a large garden, enjoyed canning, babysitting and taking care of her family. She was a Sunday School teacher and will be remembered for her mother goose stories. She was a member of the Fountain County Choral Club, Home EC club, Kingman Community Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Rockville with her daughter.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Marie) Clawson of CA; three daughters, Shirley Haworth of Rockville, Tina Brown of TX, and Angie (Mike) Woody of Rockville; daughter-in-law, Judy Clawson of Kingman; a brother, Eddie (Judy) Mills of Crawfordsville; a sister, Shirley Surface of Rockville; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; 2 sons, Alan & Lionel Clawson; 2 brothers, Wendell & Wayne Mills, and a grandson, Joel Brown.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11:00am till the time of the memorial service at 1:00pm. Burial of cremains will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Rockville Nursing & Rehabilitation, 768 N US Hwy 41, Rockville, IN 47872.
