Warren Sarjent

Mr. Warren Gail Sarjent, 92, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, May 11, at 8:30 AM, in the Ben Hur Health & Rehab Facility. He was born July 10, 1921, in Milford, Illinois, to Watson and Ruby Nanetta (Breeding) Sarjent. He first married Gladys M. Suiter on April 21, 1946, in Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death. He later married Bessie May Murphy Suiter on November 17, 1995, in Roachdale. She survives.

Mr. Sarjent had been the Owner of the Monon Hotel in the 1950's and 1960's. He was also a Chef, having worked at the Monon Cafe; the Cambridge Inn; and at Wabash College. He attended New Market Schools; was a member of the Roachdale Baptist Church; and enjoyed playing Euchre and dancing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children: Martin (Nancy) Suiter and Robert (Vallis) Suiter, both of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are special friends: Gerald (Jean) Harris, Brazil; 10 step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; 2 brothers: Robert E. and George W. Sarjent; 2 sisters: Anna M. Morrison and Doris T. Keller.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Revs. Kenny Murphy and Shannon Ivers Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery.
