Wayne L Carr

Mr. Wayne L. Carr, 74, Crawfordsville, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 4th, at 5:50 PM in the I.U. Hospital, Lafayette. He was born January 14th, 1941, in Brazil, Indiana, to Joseph and Ruby (Winn) Carr. He married Sharon L. Lane on August 15th, 1969, in Clearwater, Florida. She survives.

Mr. Carr was retired from Crown Cork & Seal where he had worked for over 30 years and was a Supervisor. After his retirement he worked for 9 years as a Greeter at the Crawfordsville Wal Mart. He was a 1959 graduate of Van Buren High School, Brazil; was a member of the Army National Guard; was a NASCAR, Cardinal Baseball, and Colts fan; and loved to play scratch off lottery tickets which had earned him 3 trips on the "Hoosier Millionaire Show".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Dee (Phil) Fettig, Crawfordsville; Michelle Keller, Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Duane E. Alexander, Crawfordsville; Dennis ( Maria) Alexander, Brazil; daughters-in-law: Tammy Parke and Vickie Butler and family, both of Crawfordsville; brothers: Larry (Sara) Carr, Crawfordsville; Tim (Linda) Sear, Worthington, Indiana; sisters: Marjorie Evans and Shandra Moss, both of Brazil. Also surviving are grandchildren: Nicholas and Dustin (Amanda) Alexander; Luke and Nikki Fettig; Skylar (Stephanie) McNorton; Devin Alexander; Isaiah West; Zachary and Nathan Taylor; Samantha Schimmel; Cailin, Crystal, and Jason Alexander; many kids that called him "Papaw"; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Dwayne McNorton; daughter: Velvet Alexander; sister: Rosemary Mitchell; brothers: Jim Hyatt and Gene Carr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, March 9th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday.
