William Robert Chamness

William “Bill” Robert Chamness, age 82 of Westfield and formerly of Montgomery County passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Maple Park Village in Westfield. He was born in Montgomery County on May 3, 1937 to the late Ray & Martha (Hall) Chamness.

Bill graduated from New Market High School and on April 5, 1966 he married Martha Joan Seybold, who preceded him in death on October 24, 2008. Bill proudly served his country in the Indiana National Guard for 19 years, was a proud supporter of the Indiana Patriot Guard, and volunteered at the Montgomery County Food Pantry. Bill worked at Raybestos in Crawfordsville for many years. He was a dog lover, enjoyed motorcycle riding, square dancing, and camping with his family.

He is survived by his son, Richard Chamness of Oregon; three grandchildren, Candy Chamness, Jessica Searing, and Crystal Livesay; many great grandchildren; and family friend, Sandi Potenza.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; a son, Robert Chamness; a grandson, Bobby Jr. Chamness; a great grandson, Skyler Spore; a sister, Martha Poole; and a brother, Joe Chamness.
