William Henry Rankey

Mr. William H. Rankey passed away Saturday, July 29th, 2017, at Bickford Assisted Living Facility in Crawfordsville.He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 3rd, 1937, to William F. and Doretta (Bockerstette) Rankey, and lived there until 2015.He married Rachel J. Young, formerly of Crawforsville, in St. Louis on January 3rd, 1983.She survives in Crawfordsville.

Bill retired from The Union Pacific Railroad after 42 years, where he had been an Accountant.He was a member of the First Christian Church of Florissant, Missouri; served honorably in the U. S. Army National Guard; attended St. Leo's Catholic Grade School and graduated from McBride High School in 1955.In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, and traveling.

Bill and Rachel have four surviving children: Michael, Kevin, Julie, and Bob. He was the grandfather of: Jessica (finance'-David), Kevin, Paige, Katie (husband-Austin), Casey, Matthew, Danielle, Brad, and Joslin.He was the great-grandfather of Griffin and little Kevin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Robert Rankey of Villa Ridge, Missouri.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, August 7th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home.Burial will follow in the Oak Hill South Cemetery, Crawfordsville.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
