Mr. William Kenneth Shofner, 59, New Ross, passed away Monday, September 12, at 1:18 PM at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 21, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William B. and Betty (Neidghe) Shofner. He married Tanya Stout on April 29, 1972 in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Mr. Shofner had retired from California Pellet Mill, Crawfordsville where he had worked in since 1998. Previously he had worked at MId States Wire from 1974 until 1998. He was a 1970 Graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a U S Army veteran; member of the VFW Post #1431, Crawfordsville; and enjoyed NASCAR events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, William J. Shofner, Ft. Hood, Texas; his mother: Betty (Terry) Hart, Vincennes, Indiana; brothers: Thomas (Pauline) Shofner, Montgomery, Indiana, Jeffrey (Vicki) Shofner, Indianapolis, Don (Pam) Avery, Tim (Paula) Avery, Tom (Kathy) Avery, all of Spencer, Indiana, Jim (Debbie) Avery, Martinsville, Indiana; sisters: Carolyn "Kit" (Ron) Hudson, Connie Shofner, Cathy Shofner, all of Washington, Indiana, Vicki (Mike) Gowens, Bicknell, Indiana; his grandmother, Geraldine Ford, Washington, Indiana, and 18 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation was selected with a family committal service to be held at a later date. There will not be any visitation or funeral service.
