William Neal Walther

William Neal Walther, age 80, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.  He was born in Indianapolis, IN, on June 25, 1938, to the late Cornelius B. & Ruthella (Allen) Walther.

He graduated from Marshall High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, Glenda Joy Crowder on June 30, 1957.  He was employed at RR Donnelleys as a pressman for 37 years before his retirement.  He was the former owner of Muffs and Tails until his son and daughter-in-law took over.  He was a member of Marshall Federated Church.

He enjoyed spending winters in Lake Placid, Florida, with his wife of 61 years.  He was a very good athlete in high school and loved watching sports on television.  Bill valued hard work and passed his strong work ethic on to his children.  He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and playing golf with his friends.  He loved his two cocker spaniels, Hope and Pat.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda of Crawfordsville; their children, Hollie (Troy) Schultz of Culver and Rodger (Machiel) Walther of Crawfordsville; a brother, Dr. Terry (Jan) Walther; 8 grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie) Ruffner, Nathaniel (Morgan) Ruffner, Tucker Schultz, Tatum (Caleb) Herrema, Tristan Schultz, Camden Walther, Breauna Walther, and Mikaela Walther; 5 great grandchildren: Chloe & Corbin Ruffner, and Liliana, Lylah, and Lucy Ruffner; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Bille Joyce Ruffner; and a great grandson, Jackson Ruffner.

A graveside service will be at Bethany Cemetery, on State Road 236 just east of Marshall, IN, on Monday, October 8, 2018, at 4:00pm with Rev.
